Location information for Detroit Metro Airport

Detroit Airport is just 20 miles southwest of Detroit. Travelling there by car, the airport can be reached via two interstate motorways, arriving from the I-94 Middlebelt/Merriman Road, or on the I-275 Eureka Road, following exit 15. Cheap car hire at Detroit Airport is conveniently available and parking facilities, both long and short term, have been improved.

There have, in fact, been many improvements, since the airport added the new Edward N. McNamara Terminal and the airport is no longer near the bottom of the United States airport ratings. Restaurants and shops, including a themed Mexican restaurant offer great service to the flyers who use the airport and its services.

Customer service is an area greatly enhanced since the changes and helpdesks offer assistance through its friendly, green-jacketed operatives. Taxis and mini-vans are available outside each terminal and car rental can be booked through the internet or at a company desk in the airport.

The airport itself has three passenger terminals, the new McNamara Terminal's three concourses, A, B and C, connected by an underground tunnel, Concourse A being the biggest at one mile long. It actually has moving walkways and even an overhead tram! Free shuttle buses also connect the terminals. For your convenience, luggage carts can be found throughout the airport.

Disabled customers will find that the airport is also designed to assist their passage through the airport and the shuttle buses too are wheelchair accessible. Exchange bureaus are located in the Smith, Berry and McNamara terminals as are ATMs. A cab ride into Detroit will take 30-45 minutes, for new arrivals and information can be found on the airport's transportation hotline.
