Low price - top service

We were met at the airport by a rep who was waiting with our hire car and we simply had to return it to the Long Stay car park at the end of the hire, dropping the key into the box in the airport building - Easy. The car was the make and model we had booked (ie no substitute), low mileage and no more than 6 months old. Price? Lowest that the price comparison site came up with but a large margin. Charges were all as per the website and confirmation emails.

I booked the car rental online and found the website very clear and easy to understand. The prices were also very cheap compared with other sites! On arrival at the airport I was met by the car hire rep and all the paperwork was ready. Very quick and easy to process everything. There were no hidden extras and everything was clearly explained. The car was waiting and was very clean. Drop off at the end of the rental was very straight-forward and easy. Basically I couldn't find any fault with the whole process from choosing and booking online to collection and drop off. Very happy with the whole process.

Excellent value for money with a good choice of...

Excellent value for money with a good choice of vehicles and providers made available to me. The Thrifty representative who I dealt with at Edinburgh was very helpful and friendly. The only slight downfall was that I had a bit of a wait to be served as there was only one Thrifty representative on duty at the desk and he was dealing with a customer when I arrived. I wasn't in a hurry though, so i didn't mind.

Hassle free experience!

I hired the car from 121 carhire.com through internet booking, and collected the car at Edinburgh airport. The entire proces was very smooth, the car keys were given to me without the need to show too much details. The condition of the car (Volvo 7 seater) is as good as new. I would recommend 121 carhire to anybody. The only unpleasant experience was the full fuel return policy, it was partly a mistake on my own. I thought that I could filled up the fuel at the airport, only to discover that the fuel station at the airport is not opened to the public (it is only opened to the car hire companies)! As I returned the car with half tank empty, i was forced to pay a higher price of 2.34GBP/litre as a "penalty" for not returning the car with full tank... as a result, I paid about 90GBP for that half tank of fuel. Normal rate is about 1.34GBP/Litre. Perhaps the staff at the Carhire Centre could caution us about the fuel station at the airport beforehand, that it is not available for public use.

I ended up with a nice economical manual shift car at a good price. I found the insurance confusing as it is somewhat different than rentals in the States but bought the extra and had no issues. The website was relatively easy to use and gave me lots of choices.

Very friendly staff. Picked up promptly from the airport and car hire only a couple of minutes from the airport. Website stated car fuel was 1/4 full and return 1/4 full. But this did not happen. I was told by easirent that I had to pay for 1/4 tank (they charged £20) and return empty. However the tank was not quite 1/4 full.

Inverness Airport is situated in the Scottish Highlands in the north of the country just outside the city of Dalcross. This is a major thoroughfare for those travelling from the UK to the north of Scotland, and indeed the airport handles nearly a million passengers each year. In addition to flights from cities such as London, Glasgow, Manchester and Edinburgh, chartered flights also come and go from Zurich and the Mediterranean.

Inverness has just one large terminal, with check-in desks to be found in the main concourse. Checking-in shouldn't take too long as the queues are generally short, due mainly to the efficient staff and the fact that there are no visa requirements for European travellers. Companies offering car hire at Dalcross Airport Scotland (INV) are located in booths in the terminal building for the convenience of travellers.

Visitors to Inverness Airport are often pleasantly surprised by the wide variety of services and facilities available for use. To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.
