Michigan state legislators who are working on a permanent funding stream for the Car rental Pure Michigan seem to be having trouble getting the support they need for their business. Originally, the company received the support of Michigan state legislators who were working on work on a permanent funding stream. The campaign contains sales tax from tourism-related businesses but no separate tax funding.

According to representatives Gary McDowell and Dan Scripps, D-Leland, the car rental tax is necessary in order to launch the Michigan Promotion Fund going. However, they insist that it is only a temporary measure. (more…)
